Additional Description: 1964 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, Chassis Serial #5319 GT (1 of 350) 300HP, 3.0 liter overhead camshaft Colombo V-12 Engine, Six Weber 38 DCN carburetors, four-speed manual gearbox, independent front suspension, live axle rear suspension, four wheel Dunlop Disc Brakes, Boranni Wire Wheels, XOXOXO Tires (size), Nardi Steering Wheel, Wheelbase: 2398mm, Dry Weight: 880 kg (1940 lbs) Spectacular original chassis and engine, professionally re-bodied as a 250 GTO using a buck made from 250 GTO Chassis Serial # 3223. All aluminum alloy 250 GTO body and GTO engine professionally crafted by noted Ferrari experts in Italy and America. S/N 5319 GT is visually indiscernible from one of the original 36 250 GTOs with the Berlinetta Scaglietti design. The history of the 1962, 1963 and 1964 Ferrari 250 GTOs is not only legendary on the worlds finest automobile racing circuits, but also in the private sales and auction house record books throughout time. The Ferrari 250 GTO dominated the championships for its category in races all over Europe for three years. It was powered by the latest generation 300 bhp light and compact Colombo V-12 engine with six twin carburetors, the reliability of which has become a legend. In the financial valuation category, the Ferrari 250 GTO is without equal in its ability to find new heights of worth. Considered now by automotive experts all over the world as fine art on wheels, the Ferrari 250 GTO will likely see $100,000,000.00 in a selling price within the next half a decade. History has proven this projection; and one only need to explore the recent past in auction results and private sales results to concur. It is the current curators prospective that the Ferrari 250 GTO will easily become the most valuable automobile on the planet; and as such, the need for an example that is perfectly represented in every detail allows the most affluent collectors to exercise their old cars without risking their investment. Unique to S/N 5319 GT is the meticulous build and craftsmanship labored upon her during the history of ownership. Under each previous owners curatorship, S/N 5319 GT underwent significant, no-expense-spared budget and exacting restoration detail to each area of the car. The interior is replicated to represent exactly that of the World Championship winning 250 GTO. Further improvements to the all aluminum body work by noted and respected Ferrari GTO expert Mark Gerisch of Green Bay, Wisconsin have perfectly replicated the beauty of Scagliettis artistry in penmanship. It must be noted that Gerisch crafted S/N 5319 GT into the 250 GTO it is today using the buck and patterns he had created for repair of 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO s/n 3223, (The first 250 GTO of Scagliettis design!) which needed extensive repairs when brought in to Gerisch. Interestingly, Gerisch, having received permission to use the bucks and patterns from s/n 3223 by its owner, with the request that slight modifications be made to differentiate S/N 5319 GT from s/n 3223. This slight modification is represented in the opening of the radiator mouth (slightly larger on S/N 5319 GT) and the addition of the third fender ventilation opening on either front panel of the car. S/N 5319 GT is a truly beautiful car. The V-12 engine was built in Italy by Claudio Zampolli, to replicate as closely as possible a GTO unit; the heads were modified to GTO specification, a GTO dry sump lubrication system was fitted and the car has a real GTO multi-chamber fuel pump. The engine has been completely serviced and is ready to be enjoyed and displayed with pride. A number of experts have performed various mechanical work and improvements on the car. Specifically, the four speed gearbox looks identical to the original 250 GTOs, however internally it is fitted with a modern fully synchromesh performance gear set. In a true testament to the quality of the craftsmanship doted upon S/N 5319 GT, Wayne

Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. The problems are organized into groups with data published by vehicle, component, and specific issue. See also an updated list of 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO problems before buying a used car. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.
