Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1970 Plymouth ROAD RUNNER recalls can be found in this database. Racing has always been the motivating factor in the sports & muscle car arena. Manufacturers have been competing against one another since the inception of the automobile. As time has gone by, racing organizations created, rules formulated, and restrictions implemented to balance competition for racing participants. One of the oldest and most successful of these American racing organizations is NASCAR (National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing) with inception in 1948. By the late-1960's, some of the most prominent of race car legends were in their prime. Names like David Pearson and Richard Petty were household names, and a heated battle between Ford and Dodge had begun. Pearson's Ford Torino Talladega was the spur that ignited Dodge to produce a faster design. They turned to state-of-art aerodynamics and wind tunnel testing as the ultimate solution. It lead to the Dodge Charger Daytona in 1969, and ultimately the further refined Plymouth Superbird in 1970! By this time, NASCAR required certain eligibility requirements to include at least one production example for every two dealerships that existed in the country. This meant at least 1,920 Superbirds had to be produced to qualify for the 1970 racing season. Fitted with a huge rear wing, pointed nose cone with retractable headlights, and rear-facing front fender scoops for reduced wheel well air pressure and aid tire clearance, it made for quite a potent high speed contender! Actual commercial production numbers vary depending on where you look, but the general consensus lists 1,935 as the true number built. Of those, 135 where carry the potent street Hemi, only 716 with the Super Commando 440 Six Pack, and the balance of production cars would house a 440 Super Commando 4-barrel under the hood. Today, these one-year only production examples are among the most favored MOPAR collector statements to own! Offered here is a rotisserie restored 1970 Plymouth Superbird finished in code correct EV2- TorRed over H2X9- Deluxe Black Vinyl bench seat interior with matching Black vinyl top!
